Shawn is off to an interview, in Kelowna at Alpine Aerotech. It would be so nice if he got an in town job to work at. The only thing is it has to be the right wage price (fingers crossed). I also sent 7 boxes (mostly seasonal kitchen items and kids toys) with him to take up to my parents lake house. The moving process is already in affect. Yesterday Jen and her father came over and we have officially put our house on the market. Everything feels like it is happening so fast.
Anyways back to today, Rosalia (Thomas's developmental specialist) came over to see him for the first time. At first he was a little uneasy about her. (Lately he has had so many people pick at and hurt him, he doesn't know who to trust.) The first toy she brought out was a big blue bouncy ball and Tom was her instant new best friend. Her job is to see where is is lacking in development and his only area of concern is his speech. So that was nice not to have any new surprises. She is working with his speech therapist, (who we see tomorrow) and we will all be working together to teach Thomas sign language. Rosalia thinks that will be the best route for Thomas. He catches on really quick to it. So besides the speech problem he is doing great. (I already knew that he was a smart cookie!) So that's my weekly update.

Wow, sign language. U have 2 learn it then 2, I assume. Is his hearing that bad? Thought he just had surgery on them...
I admire your strength!
Glad to hear the moving plans are going well... Good luck to your hubby in the interview department!
Whether or not Thomas needs the sign - what a wonderful language to learn! It can be very helfpul to know under many circumstances. :)
Good luck selling the house... you and Jennifer! Um, it might be fun to meet up with you before you move just to catch up. Let me know if you're planning on another girls night. Otherwise next time we're up to see chaotic, maybe we can see you then.
Hey - isn't it our 10 year reunion this year. Man, I feel old.
"weekly update"?
No, no - we want more than that Miss Shan.
That's so exciting that your house is on the market.Just out of curiousity because we are moving into that market, what is the selling price? I'm glad to hear that Thomas is doing so well. He is a smart little boy.
good luck with the house! great news that the speech is the only area he's lacking in. i bet learning to sign will be fun :)
Good luck with selling your house - I dread having to do that in a few years.
We've been teaching our son a bit of sign too - he's picked it up really fast and it has helped me so much. Sometimes he'll even try and say the words he is signing.
Congrats on moving. A whole new chapter is opening up for you! And I just wanted to say that your strength and spirit regarding Thomas is so incredible and inspirational. It's wonderful that you are dispelling the myths about autism. These kids are so special and unique....just the way God intended them to be. I just have so much respect for you and your attitude. Give him lots of hugs and kisses because he deserves them, and his mommy clearly loves him lots.
I'm very excited and priviledged to have listed your wonderful home Shannon! I'm sure it will sell quickly!
