Miss Julia at the Clark Theatre

 Posted by Picasa
Today has just flew by. Julia had Lyrical competition today and her group tied for 1st place, so she was very happy about that. Start to finish we were at the Clark Theatre for about 4 hours, which is a long time for just one 3 1/2 minute song. Then afterwards we went out for chinese food. Yum, yum, I haven't had chinese in over a month. Now it's time to help Julia with her spelling words for tomorrow and also they girls always need to be read to before bed. Now that Julia knows how to read, I can't skip out on some of the paragraghs. I only do it when I'm tired and I very very tired.

Basement Reno Stage 2

OK, these pictures I took today. Hopefully by the end of next week there will be paint on these walls. It's still hard to tell what you are looking at. The top two photos are our family room and the bottom two are leading into the laundry room. I didn't take pictures in the bathroom because there are no lights hooked up in there yet. I also have no where to put my filing cabnet and freezer while the reno is goin on because we do not have a garage, only a carport. So that is why you see these two items in the pictures. Posted by Picasa

Basement Reno Stage 1

This is what our basement looked like in January. We only took pictures of the bathroom and the laundry room. It's hard to tell what is what. Posted by Picasa

Friday Night

OK here's the plan: Everyone is welcome to come over between 5:30 - 6:00PM. Have a LITE dinner because there will be alot of food. Also if you have a game request besides wist, then post it on my bolg and if you own a good multiperson game then bring it with you. See you friday!

Foot in the Month Part #2

I have such a big family on my mom's side that every 2 months we get together to celebrate everyones birthdays in those months. Anyways we were at my grandma's and my uncle likes to stir the pot everytime we get together. So he starts this rumor that my sister-in-law is pregnant (my brother's wife Chrystal). I ended up only hearing part of the story he was spreading around. Well I decide to go up to Chrystal and congratulate her on the pregnancy. You can guess what happend, she was soooooo pissed off and blurted out "I'M JUST FAT NOT PREGNANT!." I tell you nothing could be more embarassing. I apologized and told her why I thought she was pregnant. It didn't help much. I tell you, I will never do that again and for my uncle, will get my revenge.

What's All The Banging About?!!!

As I was blogging I could here this Banging noise in Thomas's room. Well that was his head hitting the side of the toy box. My poor little guy fell asleep. That's what you get for not taking your afternoon nap.

Busy Day

Today was another busy day. I helped out in children's church today, as I do on the last sunday of every month. Then right after church, Julia had another lyrical practice which was hard getting her to go to until she found out it was a dress rehearsal. (She loves getting dressed up.) Then we went for fast food because Thomas fell asleep in the van (Good old McDonalds, why do kids love McDonalds so much?) When we got home I put Thomas to bed, but of course he woke up and didn't want to go to sleep. So I ended up taking the girls to my moms house while Thomas and I went to Home Depot. I feel like I live at HD because I'm there on a weekly basis and people that work in the store say "Hi, Mrs. King, oh where's the rest of the family." (That when you know that the renovating has gone on too long.) Right now I'm in the process of picking out my paint colors and hopefully in a week the basement will be all mudded and ready to go. I'm at that point where I just want it all done, enough is enough! I'll post pictures when it all done. (I got the ugly before pictures.)

The Days Are Getting Longer

These last few days have been long ones. With Shawn not home, I get so tired by the end of the week. The one nice thing is my girls love to play outside and it was sunny and windy today. They loved it. All the neighbor kids, my sister-in-law Karin-Ann and her kids and Jen Mccue and her kids were over. It was one busy day and it also was alot of fun. It's nice just to hang out and talk. When everyone went home if was off to Julia's lyrical dance class (she has competition next weekend and i'll blog some pics then), after that it was off to the mall to get dinner and all the kids some sandals. My kids are so well behaved when we were out, that I lady came up to the girls and told them they where such good kids. I was very proud of course. We also went and rented a family movie called Kicking and Screaming. I'm sure they will like it because they love Will Farrel in the "Elf" movie. Anyways we also went to the 7 11 and got slurpees (the girls favorite treat) and candy. So that my day, how was yours?

About the game night I wanted to do, does next Friday work for you girls. We can play any kind of game you would like and I will have lots of snacky foods. So who in? and what is your game request? Let me know in the next few days. Thank-you.

Poker Anyone?

Do any of you girls like playing poker? I'm talking about Texas hold'em or 7 card stud. I like playing any kind of game, but lately it's been poker. I was thinking if there is enough of you that want to get together and play, I could set it up at my house. Let me know.

Well it's been 4 days since Shawn went out of town and I'm officially bored out of my mind. I'm usually busy in the day but at night, it sucks. The kids are in bed by 8-8:30pm and then I'm left watching t.v. (which lately has been all reruns) I not a big reader except for my magizines which are total housewive mags or I like to scrapbook. Scrapbooking is hard to do lately because I need a big area to do it and with the reno downstairs going on, there is no room in this house. Hopefully the drywall and painting stage will be done by the end of next week. Well that's all I have to say for now, until next time.

Monday Madness

Monday just flew by. In the morning (early morning) I had to take Shawn to the Vancouver airport because he is going out of town for 3 weeks. He was staying up at a place called Tumbleridge (in Alberta somewhere). It was nice that Nicci stayed an extra day at my house, so I didn't have to take the kids to the airport.
I got home from the airport at 9:45am, put a little make-up on and then took Thomas for his 18 month shots at 10am. He was not happy about that. He screamed pretty hard compared to the other times we have had them done.
I also had my wiegh in at curves yesterday and I have lost 31/2 pounds and 3 inches. Yehhhh! Last week I only went 1 time to the gym because of company and springbreak business, so I was surprised to have done so well.
Today Nicci packed up the kids and went home. It was nice to get to see her, over the phone just doesn't cut it sometimes. Now I'm all alone with the kids. My girls keep me busy though, with their activities and friends. I'm sure the next 3 weeks will fly by.

First Kiss

I have a little story to share about my daughter Julia and Nics son Noah. O.K. I was downstairs on the computer doing my taxes and Noah comes up to me and says "I have to marry Julia." I say " Why do you have to do that Noah?", and he says because he gave her a kiss on the cheek. Then he continues to say we need to get some cards to give to our friends (invitations). He was so serious too that it made me start to laugh a little. I then told him you don't need to get married because you kissed Julia and then I told him NO MORE KISSING unless you want me to tell Shawn. Noah then says "oh, i promise I won't do that again."
O.K. last BP pic. Love the profile pose Ang!

Girls Night Out

It was alot of fun hanging out with some of you blogger girls last night. We have to do this every month but at a different restaurant next time. Gracie was such a good girl Ang, you are lucky. Anyways the movie was actually funny, I had a few good laughs.
Today Nic and I visited the Abby Vineyard which is an awesome church. I took my girls with me and they loved the worship and sunday school. It was cool after church because I bumped into Aaron from VCS and I also seen some Isaac Centre people. It just feels so weird, like I haven't aged a day since high school.

See you there and yes this time Nicci can't cancel because she is already here in town.

This morning I was lighting some of my candles and I remembered a story about Kailey that I can laugh about now, but at the time it was a little scary. About 2 months ago we had some friends over and I had lit some candles in the kitchen. My girls know they are not allowed to touch the candles. So knowing this, Kailey decided she would decorate the candles with paper towel, Julia's homework and newspaper flyers. In the process of doing this she had burnt her finger and came running to me. (I was in my living room at the time.) She starts panicing saying "SPIDER, SPIDER, SPIDER IN THE KITCHEN!" Then she says "the spider burned me." (What, a spider can't burn you, what the heck was she talking about, I thought.) So I get up and go to the kitchen with Kailey and all the paper that was on my counter is on fire. I started throughing the paper into the sink and then yelled for Shawn to come and help. Shawn comes in the kitchen and instead of helping he starts freaking out about our new counter top that we just bought. Anyways I get it all cleaned up and luckily nothing got wrecked except Julia's spelling homework. Julia shared the story with her class and they all got a good laugh out of it. It was kinda ironic because that whole week at Julia's school was fire awarness week.

Here's the kids cuddling grandma. The girls cryed the whole way home when we had to leave. They're grandma's girls.

Thomas is 18 months Now

Once you let them go on the slide one time, you can never get them off.

Our Trip Cut Short

I have had such a stressful weekend that I don't know where to begin. We went up to Kelowna on friday and we were suppose to stay at my dad's house until thursday and then go visit Nic in kamloop until saturday. My friend Karen has a daughter (who is the same age as Julia) who started feeling sick sunday morning. It started with the chills and then progressed into really high fevers. Anyways she ended up getting the stomac flu and well you can imagine whaf happend next. My poor parents are going to mexico in a week for there 19th anniversary and they don't want to be sick.
We came home today this morning, Karen took Tiarra to the doctors and we found out she has scarlet fever and its contagious. AHHHHHHHHH! Our family has been sick for months and I don't want to go through it all over again.
On a good note I got some nice pictures of the kids at the beach ( just playing at the park not swimming) and around the house. I also feel a little burned out from the stress of taking care of my 3 children alone, so its nice being back home. I look forward to a good night sleep.
Well that was my crazy weekend.

Taking A Trip

Yesterday my friend Karen and I, along with our kids drove up to Kelowna to visit my parents. The kids did great in the car for once and we got there in record time considering the weather lately.
This morning we got up early, which usually happens the first day when we visit somewhere new. Anyway my mom thought it would be fun to go for an hour walk. (My friend Karen is 51/2 months pregnant and it was mostly up hill walking.) Well we got 3/4 of the way back home and Karen couldn't take anymore stress of the hills, so we made her sit on a bench and enjoy the view while we walked back up and I drove back down and picked her up.
After lunch we took the kids to the beach to play for a little bit. Thomas loved the sand and I'm sure when it gets warmer out he will be in that water like a dirty shirt. It was so hard to get him to leave the beach.
Tonight we are going to Montanas which will be nice considering we don't have a nice steak house in Abbotsford.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll see you Nic on Thursday. I will call you during the week. Bye for now.

Video Camera Difficulty

I need help. I am trying to put all our recorded tapes of our kids (from our camcorder) and put them on DVDs. This is getting frustrating because I don't know how to do this. I figured it would be kinda like putting music on a cd. If any of you know how to do this then please blog me and help me out. (My camcorder has a a/v connecting cable and it has a USB cable. Do I need something else to connect to the computer?)

Dinner is getting boring

Every Sunday I make a dinner schedule for the week. Lately it has been hard making meals because we are having the same kind of meals, week after week after week. If any of you have some kind of different or new type of meal that I could make, then give me a blog. Thanx

Pictures of the Boys

Here are a couple of pictures of my nephew Kaleb. The picture of the cousins on the sleds is my favorite. When Thomas is tired he will sleep anywhere.

The other picture is a picture of my my dad and Kaleb.

What a Busy Day

I am so glad this day is over. It started off crazy. Julia and Kailey had school, my mom needed me to babysit my 9 month old nephew Keleb (my brother Greg's baby boy) and Shawn needed an invoice ASAP at work. There is so much road construction being done on the freeway, that it took me 40 minutes to get to the Abby Airport. I was 15 minutes late picking up Kailey from preschool (I am NEVER late) and I forgot to eat in the morning. It was just one of those insane days. Finally at 1:00PM I put Thomas down for a nap, my mom picked up Kaleb and I had my breakfast/lunch.
The afternoon was like every other monday; cleaned the house, folded laundry etc... I did get around to reading some of your guys blogs. Love that picture Rose of you and Shawn as kids. Bridgett I'm so jealous that you get on that WARM weather and can hang out at the beach. I miss the summer, can't wait to go to the beach, camping etc... Well it's time for me to go to bed, I hope you all had a better day then mine and Angie I hope your feeling better. Colds SUCK!!!! I've had a cough and runny nose for 2 weeks. Get Better.
Love you all and Good Night.

My Most Embarassing Moment

This embarassing moment somehow slipped my mind. Ok here we go and get ready to laugh your butt off. I was 3 months along in my pregnancy with Thomas and I was going to the doctors for my Full check-up. I get soooo nervous getting a pap done. After my doctor was finished giving me my full check-up, I sat up and all of the sudden I felt really dizzey. I told him I was feeling sick and then I started losing my balance and passed out flipping off the bed backwards, getting stuck upside down between the wall and the bed. My poor doctor and a nurse had to pick me up and to top things off my butt was exposed the whole time. It was quit scary because I hit my head so hard that I forgot where I was and I wanted to go home but they wouldn't let me. I had to wait there until Shawn came to pick me up. They told Shawn what happend when he got there and he laughed at me the whole way home. I don't know why my body likes to shut down at the worst times. Anyways I hope you all have a good laugh and have a good night.

The Mexican Hat Dance

Here is Julia and one of her good friends Emily. In two days they will be performing a dance on the ice called "The Mexican Hat Dance" They are very excited. ( Julia likes the make-up and dressing up part.) Girls are so much fun, I can still remember ice skating and dance lessons. It's fun being a kid.

Sushi Anyone?

My most embarassing moment was when Shawn took me and Julia out for dinner at a japanese restaurant. In the restaurant we sat in a private booth so Julia could run around. (At the time she was only 9 months old) Julia had stuffed herself with so much food that she ended up having to go poo, but it was the really bad kind of poo. She had pooped so much, it ran up her back, on her clothes etc.. This restaurant didn't have a change table in the bathroom, so I had to change her in the booth. Well, she was at that age where they don't just lay there when you change them. She ended up getting poop on the seat, on my hands and to top it off I ran out of wet ones so we had to use our napkins and then ran out of napkins. It was a mess and it stunk. In the middle of this happening the waitress comes to give us our bill. The look on her face was priceless and I just wanted to die. Shawn quickly payed for our meal and we ran out of there. I don't think we have went back to that restaurant since.

Skiing at Big White

We went skiing the first week of January and his was the girls first time. They loved the kids ski program and can't wait to go again. Kailey's loved the way all the instructors talked funny. (They are all from Australia.) Anyways the girls wanted me to post the pictures for everyone to see.

Peace and Quiet

It so nice just to sit on the couch and read a magazine with total peace and quiet. My house is always busy, if its not friends from school or the neighbor kids or a house of children I babysit its something else. I rarely get these quiet moments. Today Julia is at school, Kailey's over at a friends house, Thomas is sleeping and I only babysit 2 boys today before and after school. It nice to have time to yourself.
In January I started going to a fitness place called curves for a couple of reasons. First of all it gets so depressing being at a weight that I'm not comfortable with and I get so busy with life and giving all of myself to my family that I sometimes just need to do something for me. It nice to get out of the house for 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week and do something that up lifts me. That's what curves has done for me and I'm loving it. I feel healthier, I have more energy and I feel refreshed. (I have also lost in total 5 inches and 5lbs)
For all of you busy moms out there, don't forget about yourself. Remember to do something fun or relaxing or up lifting for just you.
