Last week was a pretty busy one. Shawn went out of town again, Thomas got the flu, got a new puppy, Nicci came down for a visit from Kamloops and Julia had another dance competition. I did get to relax a little bit though. On friday I went out for dinner and a movie with some of the blogger girls. We went to Swiss Chalet and then to Scary movie 4. That movie was sooooo funny but not long enough. Then on Saturday Leah invited us over to her home for a visit. Julia met Olivia (Leah's daughter) for the first time and they were friends instantly. Olivia is all Julia talked about for the next couple of days. It was so cute when we were leaving Leah's house because the girls swapped phone numbers. I tell you they sure grow up fast.

As for this week not much is going on. I'm getting the basement measured for the hardwood flooring we're putting down there and I have a little gardening to do, but that's about it. Hope everyone has a great week and hopefully a week of sunshine. I sure need it. My skin is white as a ghost and a have zero time to go fake n' bake.

This picture of Thomas is my picture of the week. He's got a major plumber crack going on. He doesn't seem to care though.

Ouch!

Everytime Thomas is watching a t.v. show, movie or listening to music he stand on the tips of his toes. Now try doing this at home, it's harder than you think and painful!

My 10 Simple Pleasures

1. Cuddling in bed with my husband (and always getting a back massage)
2. Watching my girls play "stage" (it's a game where they both sing and dance for shawn and I) They alway make us laugh.
3. Getting kisses from my son Thomas
4. Getting onion rings from A&W. (I have been addicted since I was pregnant with Kailey.)
5. Talking with Shawn (He always makes me laugh, and he makes up new sayings and words all the time.)
6. Reading stories to my girls and now getting stories read to me by Julia.
7. Gardening ( I'm no Martha but for me it so relaxing and rewarding)
8. Sitting on my deck, reading a book or just enjoying the weather. (When we have the sun of course)
9.Getting a babysitter and going out with Shawn
10. Listening to music and singing

I tag Karen and Sarah now. By the way this was such I good idea. Thank you to whoever thought of it!

Our New Baby!

This is our new baby puppy Ginger. She is a multipoo and is 9 weeks old. Shawn bought Ginger for our Anniversary gift and I just love her. She reminds me of my dog Muffin when I was younger, except Ginger is much smarter. She is already potty trained and she only is getting up once a night to go pee (which was about 5 in the morning.) The girls just love her to pieces and Thomas has no interest in her yet. Posted by Picasa

Yesterday was just another busy day as usual. Julia had another dance competition and they did very well. They placed 2nd in their Lyrical dance and 1st in their Jazz dance. It was so nerve racking for me and the other mothers, but for the girls, they had no problem. They all love to perform and most of all, have a love for dance. After competition was over we went out for dinner with our friends (The Fedrau family) to the Swiss Chalet. They took care of Thomas and Kailey for us while Julia was dancing. Thank -you so much Karen and Fred for all your help!!!

Today has been a pretty layed back day. I went to Walmart to get a few things, took Kailey to swimming lessons and now it's my time to sit back and read a book or blog while Thomas naps. Tonight I am going to my 1st nutrition class at curves. I have been going to curves since January and I have got the exercising 3 days a week down, but now I need help eating healthier. Our family is so bad for going out to eat and I'm tired of it. So it starts at 7pm and they give me an eating schedule for 6 weeks. I know it's going to be hard but it will be worth it in the end. Wish me luck and lots of grace.

More Easter Pics

Here are some pictures of all the girl cousins. Nicole is the little girl wearing the pink outfit and she is Shawn's oldest brother's daughter, Hayley is is one that is inbetween my 2 girls in picture on the top right and Hannah is in the bottom right picture. All the girls looked so cute all dressed up. Posted by Picasa

Easter Weekend

Thomas had no interest in easter egg hunting this year. All he wanted to do was run around and play on the swing set. The girls didn't mind, more chocolate and candy for them. We had our Easter dinner on Sunday with Shawn's brother and sister. Shawn's parents were on vacation in Hawaii. It's nice having all the little cousins together and they were all so excited to go easter egg hunting.  Posted by Picasa

Shawn's Back!!!

On Monday I picked Shawn up at the Abbotsford airport (which is a nice change from going to the vancouver airport) and he will be home for a couple of weeks. It's so nice to have him back. The kids really missed him, especially the girls. And of course I missed him too.
Tuesday we took Kailey to her swimming lessons and then swam afterwards. It was nice to do a family thing. Kailey is doing really well in swimming. For being 4 years old, she's doing really well. She's diving into the pool, swimming in the deep end and she can jump off the diving board. It is such a difference from when Julia was in lessons. You couldn't pay her to jump off the diving board!
Wednesday was a busy day like every wednesday in this house. Both the girls were busy with their activities, Julia with her jazz, drama and ballet and Kailey with her drama and piano. They both love being busy though but next year they are doing one dance each and piano (THAT"S IT!). Anyways we also had our ceilings primmed and painted which looks really good.
Today I will be primming the walls and painting all day. I want to get all that done before we start to get the hot weather because I get so sick from all the fumes otherwise.

Talk About Bad Luck!

Today my day started off with me leaving the house at 8:15am to go to my first aid course. On my way there I went over some train tracks and a bolt lodged into my passenger front tire. At first I thought my tire blew, but when I pulled over, I seen nothing wrong. So I continued to drive again and kept hearing this clunk, clunk noise, so I went to a gas station and then found the bolt. The guy at the gas station said not to worry about it and said I could get it fixed later on that evening. So I ended up being 5 minutes late for my class, which was a little embarassing. At 4pm when my class was over, I was driving home and I heard a noise under my van. It was the stupid bolt (I guess it dislodged itself) and within a minute my tire was flat. I pulled over to the side of the road, these 2 guys were right behind me a few cars back and they pulled over to help. Thank you Lord because I suck at changing tires and to top it off my spare was flat. I couldn't believe it, but the guys that were helping me happen to have a tire pump. They worked on my van for over a half hour which was so nice (it's too bad that I never got there names but I guess that doesn't really matter. All I know is today they were my angels in disguise). Anyways in the end I went to costco and got my tire fixed and then went home. It's been a long day and now I have 10 chapters to read before I go to class tomorrow. I know tomorrow has to be an easier day then today.

Jumping Julia

Here are some pictures of Julia jumping on the trampoline with her friends. Almost everyday she is on that trampoline rain or shine. It was a great investment.  Posted by Picasa

Potty Training

Thomas is not the type to just sit around, but I thought it was time to teach him how to go the bathroom on a toilet. Everytime he goes in his pants he comes up to me and says "poo poo stinky." So we gave it a go and he ended up peeing. Yeahhhhh! (He's going to love me when he's older for taking this photo!)

They Sure Grow Up Fast

Today I'm taking Kailey to her Kindergarten orientation day. This is so sad. I will have two of my 3 kids in school. Recently I have noticed Kailey is losing her preschool look ( I don't know what else to call it.) and she already doing the kindergarten count down (how many more days till I go to the BIG school mom?) The one good thing is she wants to go to school, unlike a couple of my younger brothers.
Speaking of brothers, Stephen is graduating from high school this year. It's so hard to believe. I still think of him as my "little brother", but he's not so little anymore. He has a girlfriend, job etc.. His graduation is at the end of May, so Shawn and I (without kids) are going up to Kelowna.

That's all for now!!!

Yesterday we had the drywaller come in and mud the downstairs finally. I have been waiting for this day to come. It's hard only living in half of my home. He will be back on Wednesday.

Today I took Julia to school and in an hour I'm taking Kailey and Thomas swimming at the ARC. Kailey's got lessons, so it's easier just to go in the water with Thomas, instead of fighting to keep him out of the water. He's a total water baby. Last year he was learning to swim on his own and he was under a year old. ( It helps when you have a pool. I think my kids wore bathing suits the entire summer last year.) After that I need to go shopping for some sandals. It's that time of year.

Friday Night with the Girls

It was nice to get to see everyone again and hang out. We played a few games like Telepaths and this game Sarah taught us. Not quit sure what it was called but it was fun. Here's a picture of the girls.  Posted by Picasa
