Dance, Dance, Dance!

Dance competitions are just around the corner (a month and 1 week away to be exact) and my girls are practicing really hard. The past 4 months Julia has been going through a lot regarding her brother Thomas. About 1 week after he was diagnosed with autism, Julia started feeling sick. Shawn and I took her to almost ever test you could think of (blood, ultrasound, urine etc... you get the point) and all her results came back fine. I had a feeling from the beginning that it had something to do with Thomas being "sick." I think that is how she sees her brother after the diagnosis. Almost 2 weeks ago I took Julia to see Thomas's pediatrician who diagnosed him with the autism. I was a little worried that I had 2 children with disorder problems and was starting to panic. We were at the doctors office for 1 1/2 hours and in the end he said that she is just dealing with all the stress and change of our family dynamic and as long as we acknowledge her pain but don't add to it, she will be fine.He also said that she was very smart and very mature for her age. (yes I already knew this. She acts like she is 11 or 12 years old and she's 7) She still comes up to me everyday and asked me if she looks OK , but she is not freaking out anymore.
Back to the dance stuff, yesterday Julia told me that she got her love back for dance and her and Kailey practiced their dance routines all yesterday. I'm so glad my little is getting better. News on the boy:- At the end of March we start going to Sunny Hill health centre to finish up on Thomas's diagnosis. He needs to see three more doctors and then we will start to get some funding for him. This whole process has went so fast and all the doctors have worked hard to help Thomas. My boy has so much favor and I thank God so much for that.

Oh Shannon - this must be so stressful for you! I know that after we had N. I realized very quickly not to mention all the hospital visit and dr.'s appointments she was having in front of R. - R. also has been suffering with some behaviour issues and I really think it has to do with all the extra attention that was focused on N... It's hard! You are doing a terrific job and keep staying as positive as you are and everything will work it's way out....

PS Can't wait to see all the dance pictures.

Glad everything has gone so well for Thomas and you guys and that it doesn't seem like it's dragging along.
That is such a sweet sister pic :)

I can totally relate to what you're going through with Julia. Noah developed a lot of anxiety about being sick too. Everytime he thought that he might throw up, he became really frightened. It's hard to make light of it since they are so worried about it in their mind. We have continued to pray for Noah and when he gets really worried, we play worship music in his room, which seems to work.
